Worldwide Association of Notable Alumni Recognizes Eric Cooper
Eric recently retired after serving 28 years in the military, working for the government in Trinidad and Tobago, and now teaches part-time at his alma mater, University of the Southern Caribbean. He teaches to give back, and because he firmly believes knowledge is something to be shared. He is a natural leader and entered the military as a result of serving as an example for unemployed youth in his community.
He is currently studying to complete his DBA and intends to teach full time and also do some consultancy once it is completed. He plans to spend the rest of his career sharing and receiving as much knowledge as he can. He will focus on the younger population in particular. He says the key to his own success has been hard work, which is what he would advise the younger population to seek whole heartedly to achieve their own goals. His proudest accomplishment is obtaining his bachelors degree as a non-traditional student in his 30s.
Eric looks forward to meeting as many members as he can, sharing information, and some good food. In his spare time he enjoys cooking, cultural foods, reading, travel, and meeting new people. He holds a Masters in Strategic Leadership & Management from the University of the West Indies, and a Bachelors degree in Home Economics from the University of Southern Caribbean/Andrews University, he is also a Certified Hospitality Educator. He resides in beautiful Trinidad and Tobago.
