Worldwide Association of Notable Alumni Recognizes Thomas Zieffle
Thomas Zieffle is a retired educational directorial consultant, recently transplanted from Canada to Guatemala. With more than 20 years of experience in education, he worked for years as a teacher before moving into administration. As a principal, Thomas focused on schools in troubled districts, where turnover rate was high and often principals did not remain for longer than a year. Through his determination, dedicated and passion for education, he outlasted all the others, and made a significant impact in the various districts.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Business Administration from the College of Great Falls, Thomas went on to complete a Master of Education in Education and Psychology from the University of Calgary. He was inspired to become a teacher because he felt it was his destiny, and attributes his success to having a sense of responsibility and accountability, knowing what is right is right, and teaching his students to do the right thing.
Thomas was recognized with the Wall Street Journal Achievement Award, and is making strides to improve the education system in Guatemala. In retirement, he enjoys carpentry, innovation, and volunteers with various charitable organizations.
