Worldwide Association of Notable Alumni Recognizes Katya Gardea Browne, MFA

Katya Gardea Browne began her studies in art by attending Yale University completing her degrees in Fine Art and Film studies where she was recognized for her abilities and was awarded Yale's prestigious Study Award.  Her work incorporates sculpture, painting, video, architecture and installation.  She has been affiliated with the Goethe-Institut in Germany and the Alfred Ehrhardt Stiftung in Berlin where her work on “Nature Cultures” was featured. 

Katya's body of work is exhibited worldwide and she is a recent speaker on Yale Radio station on the subject of science art and technology as well as the juncture between art, anthropology & water resources specific to the urban landscape of Mexico City, also a speaker at Quinnipiac University's on painting, contemporary art and 1930´s Muralism. Katya Gardea Browne is a Mexico City based artist currently exhibiting her work internationally and is fluent in Spanish and German.

An artist working within the juncture of Art, Architecture, Science and Ecology, Katya is now living outside of the U.S. between Mexico City and Berlin, Germany. Sculpture and painting are her main practice, yet ecological issues and architecture form part of her current & ongoing process.

She holds a Master's Degree in Fine Arts and Film Studies from Yale University as well as a Bachelors in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts in New York. She has exhibited in Museums in Mexico City, Foundations in Europe and is an important voice as a female artist in Mexico. Her main focus is in making valuable connections and furthering her career and artist publications as a Mexican-American Artist. The dialogue between Media Arts, Science, Culture can affect the way we filter information into the world, together with applied arts and social world issues. She resides between Greenwich, CT.
