Worldwide Association of Notable Alumni Recognizes Jack Lafortune
Design the World Ahead is his motto. Innovator, tech entrepreneur and risk taker, Jack Lafortune is the CEO and Founder of JED Lab, a creative production agency launched in 2010 that encompasses a team of talented creative and tech professionals. From virtual reality to cinematic storytelling video production to branding & design, he has a long streak at working with large accounts as well as launching several successful startup ideas. After achieving an accelerated bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Sherbrooke University in Canada, Jack quickly made his way to the top of hierarchy and was a leader in his field in his early 20s. By the age of 25, he was promoted to IT Director managing a team of senior content management developers for the aerospace company Pratt & Whitney Canada, and led the innovation department before launching JED Lab Media.
Creative problem solving is his passion as he created the first automated machine learning expert system of human resources management of unionized employees, called the Layoff Simulation System right before 9/11. A complex algorithm that was crucial during decision making while cyclical economic downturns occurred in the aviation industry. This system was immediately recognized as a success and was awarded the highest excellence certification ACE GOLD for meeting the standards of improving, and sustaining quality and productivity throughout all of corporation. At this time, he rapidly established himself as a rising talent in the field and was groomed for management positions early. After getting a decade of experience as a progressing senior manager, Jack established JED Lab, after surviving the Haiti Earthquake in 2010. This pivotal moment had him realize that the world was facing greater issues. By vision, passion and hard work, he believes his ideas can change the world.
A man of action, he credits his success to an innate creativity, superior negotiating skills, and fearlessness in the face of adversity. Beside his professional endeavors, he is a board member and spokesperson for the Residence Menard & Lafortune that helps mental health and schizophrenics across Quebec Province.
