Haitham Bahaitham, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Industrial Engineering Department at Faculty of Engineering- Rabigh, King Abdulaziz University (KAU). He earned a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Bio-Medical) from KAU in 1996 and a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from KAU in 2003, as well as earning a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Central Florida (UCF) in 2011. He worked in medical imaging service field with representatives of GE Healthcare and Siemens Limited Co., Medical Solutions in Saudi Arabia. In addition, he taught in the Management Science Department, MIS Track, at Yanbu University College (YUC). During his work at KAU, he served as Head of the Industrial Engineering Department and the Vice Dean for Development at the Faculty. In March 2017, Haitham has been appointed as the Dean of Community College at University of Jeddah for two years. With over 20 years of experience in the engineering field, he is a distinguished expert and seasoned in the professional as well as academic sector. His area of research is quality applications in service industry especially those applications related to healthcare sector.

Haitham is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt by Harrington Institute, received the UCF 2011-2012 University Award for the Outstanding Dissertation, and served as an external examiner for a PhD student at University of Technology, Sydney Australia.

Already with 3 publications and 7 conference presentations in addition to couple of on-progress projects related to chapter book writing and book translation, Haitham is poised on a full professorship track and is a valuable asset to the university.

A resident of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in his spare time Haitham enjoys swimming and is an avid reader.
