Worldwide Association of Notable Alumni Recognizes Cynthia Smith
Cynthia Smith is the Program Director at the St. John Community Development Corporation (SJCDC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering economic and social services to underprivileged or at risk youth, individuals and families. Offering the Save A Youth (SAY) after school and summer camp program, transitional housing and employment services at the St. John House for Men, and a Vocational Program with support from The Governor’s Crime Commission of North Carolina and the local Juvenile Crime Prevention Council.
With nearly 40 years of professional experience in social services and community outreach, in her role Cynthia serves as a Counselor and Parent Liaison within the SJCDC program. She manages the vocational program for at risk youth between the ages of twelve and seventeen, helping to teach behavioral, management, communication and life skills to academically and socially challenged teens who may or may not have become involved in the juvenile court system.
Cynthia holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Accounting from Shaw University, and enjoyed a three and a half decade long career as an Income Maintenance Investigator (II) for the Wilson County Department of Social Services. She is celebrated in the community for her dedication and passion for helping young teens in need of direction and guidance.
A resident of Wilson, North Carolina, Cynthia is an avid reader in her spare time.
