Veréna Preston is Managing Director at Advisian. Veréna is responsible for the strategic direction setting and execution of all the sectors (hydrocarbons, infrastructure, minerals and metals and chemicals) and service lines (17 of) for the combined advisory and technical consulting division in APAC. This includes establishing new operations in China and Asia.

In prior roles Veréna was the Location Director for the WorleyParsons Northern Operations Group in Australia, which included Queensland, the Northern Territory, and PNG.  And the Regional Managing Director for the technical consulting division across Asia Pacific and China.

Veréna has a strong background in the areas of transformational leadership, global strategy and the successful establishment and growth of new business ventures. Her leadership combines significant global experience with strong commercial acumen.

 Veréna joined WorleyParsons in 1999 and has held numerous key leadership roles that have included running and growing sizeable operations, transactional acquisitions, the establishment of operations in new countries and establishing the high margin global Consulting business, a key strategic initiative that launched Advisian, the independent advisory arm of WorleyParsons.

Veréna has also led key global strategic relationships and was the Global Engagement Leader for the Company's largest joint venture, having success in winning, implementing and managing integrated services contracts across the globe and was responsible for establishing operations in Asia and the Pacific Rim.

Veréna has led global firm-wide change and has a strong entrepreneurial mindset, setting strategy and a vision, and delivering on it.

Her history and background include being on the Boards of industry groups, various joint ventures and alliances and the Advisian Global Leadership Team. With over 25 years’ international experience working both in client operations as well as with design contractors. Veréna’s experience also covers business development, design, engineering and project management.  She qualified as a chemical engineer.

Veréna resides in Australia but has also lived and worked in the UK and South Africa.  In her earlier career Veréna worked for Fluor Daniel, Foster Wheeler and Impala Platinum Refinery, SA.
