Ryan Walsh is the Sports Director at WJOB AM 1230, a Hammond, Indiana-based radio station offering programming in local affairs, business, union and other social issues, as well as play-by-play coverage of local sporting events to Northwest Indiana and South Suburban Chicago. Now in his seventh year as Sports Director, Ryan is responsible for scheduling events, interviewing coaches and players, and managing the budget.

While completing his degree in Sports Communication and Broadcasting from the Indiana University Bloomington in 2009, Ryan worked as the Sports intern at WJOB. Opportunity arose quickly, and Ryan propelled into the Sports Director role later on that year. In 2010, he became a Morning Show Producer for Jim Dedelow, a role in which he secures and books guests, and edits highlights into the show’s podcast archive.

Having grown up listening to sports radio, Ryan is passionate about the field of sports broadcasting. He served as Sports Announcer at WIUX while a student, and has made it his goal to provide unparalleled sports coverage on a local and regional level for his audience. He is also the Co-host of a weekly college basketball talk show that features coaches and players from across the US, celebrating its 6^th season.
