Ronald Dorovi is an international entrepreneur and engineer. As the owner and founder of 2 successful and diverse businesses, he is an expert in operations, management and market analysis. As the owner and principal of the independent well engineering consultancy Dorovico International, Ron directs office operations and project development, as well as puts time in out in the field conducting drilling supervising and consulting. Having founded Dorovico International nearly 20 years ago, Ron has consulted for Chevron Thailand, Chevron Vietnam, Chevron Hibernia, BP, DW GOM, Baker Hughes Kazakhstan, Baker Hughes Myanmar, Suncor Terra Nova Newfoundland and Chevron Atlantic Canada.

Ron also serves as a Senior Deepwater Drilling Engineer to Waterford Energy Services / Waterford Subsea Inc., an upstream energy services company that holds engineering, geologic and technical operations worldwide. He holds a Petroleum Engineering degree from the University of Southern California, and launched his career with 15 loyal years of service to Chevron. Becoming a Well Work Consultant, he turned his focus to international offshore, subsea and deepwater projects, which led him to work and travel all over the globe.

During these travels, Ron discovered the beauty of Thailand, which he has made his home ever since. Ron’s passion for his new home and his own east-meets-west story led him to found and launch his newest company, the acclaimed restaurant Thai Taco. Fusing authentic Thai flavors with Mexican-American and Australian cuisine, Thai Taco became a hit at its original location in Phuket in 1999. On January 9^th, the company just celebrated the one-year anniversary of its grand opening in a 3-storey shop house! It started as a “glorified lemonade stand”.

Ron plans to share the hit cuisine of Thai Taco with the world, and has plans for branches across the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom and Canada. Currently, he divides his time between Phuket, Thailand; Ventura, California; Houston, Texas and St. Johns, Newfoundland. During his travels and free time, he enjoys learning more about worldwide cultures, the environment, food and drink, and keeping up with NBA and NFL sports.
