Rev. Guillermo Escalona is the Director of Pastoral Education at the Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF), a comprehensive network of hospitals and healthcare facilities that provide critical wellness service to over a million residents of the greater Miami and Fort Lauderdale areas each year. With over 25 years of experience in pastoral care, Rev. Escalona is responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures pertaining to education and training, ecumenical volunteers, bereavement care, programming and media functions of the Pastoral Care Services department. He also develops interdisciplinary educational opportunities for topics relevant to the religious, spiritual, physical and psychosocial health of BHSF patients, families, staff and constituent communities, all helping to forward the mission of BHSF to improve the health and well-being of individuals and the community while promoting the sanctity and preservation of life.

After earning an Associate of Arts degree in Fine and Studio Arts from Miami Dade College, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Public Administration with Honors from Florida International University. He completed his theological training at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he earned a Master of Divinity focusing on Theology, Philosophy and Pastoral Care. Ever mindful of his own journey and dedicated to self-improvement, Rev. Escalona returned some years later to conduct postgraduate studies in Counseling Psychology at Liberty University. He is a Board Certified Clinical Chaplain and a member of the Association of Professional Chaplains.

A pillar of his community, Rev. Escalona hosts the very popular Miami Spanish language radio show, La Hora Positiva  http://www.Lapopoderosa.com on 670 AM which is also heard in over 40 nations via the internet . He resides in Miami, where he plans to open a spiritual institute in the near future. In his spare time, Rev. Escalona keeps in touch with his artistic roots and expression as a painter and inspirational writer.
