Pamela McGovern is Senior Counsel with Aust Legal, located in the Montreal, Canada area. She has more than three decades of legal experience, and has advised some of the most well regarded entities in  Quebec, Canada and the United States. On a given day, Pamela gives advice to clients on construction and surety matters, as well as provides counsel in commercial matters as well as transactional services. She has also developed an expertise in litigation management.

Pamela was General Counsel at Hydro- Quebec before transitioning to her current position at Aust Legal.  Her areas of expertise include litigation management services, mining, construction, and transactions. She is a perfectly bilingual lawyer with extensive experience in negotiating complex international deals. She acquired senior management skills while building and leading an in-house team and as a director of a law firm, and group manager of a practice team. She has demonstrated an ability to assess complex problems, establish priorities, identify risks and successfully implement strategies.

She is also an experienced and effective communicator both as speaker to large and small groups. She has authored reports to management, legal opinions and proceedings as well as professional publications. Pamela is also Chair of the Canadian Irish Studies Foundation of Concordia University, the assistant corporate secretary and member of the Board of La Maison Bieler Inc. She is also a former board member of the International Association of Defense Counsel (2011-2014) where she served as Vice President International and a former member of the board of Lavery de Billy (1998-2002).

Her long-standing reputation as a detail-oriented attorney who always sees the big picture has and will continue to serve her clients well for many years to come. Pamela received her LL.L (cum laude) in Law from the University of Ottawa, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from McGill University. In her spare time, she enjoys opera, travel and seeing the world. She resides in Montreal, Canada.
