Posted by Worldwide Association of Notable Alumni on April 5th, 2016.

Maurice Ian Lowcock is the Deputy Principal at Epping Boys High School, one of the premier educational institutions in New South Wales, Australia. Currently in his 6th year as Deputy Principal, Maurice brings to his role over 36 years of experience in education and administration, and oversees all students, faculty and staff, as well as the administration. He monitors and manages the school’s discipline, coordinates parent teacher conferences, field trips, curriculum, teacher evaluations and teacher development.

With a breadth of educational experience to his credit, Maurice has taught in various types of settings, including selective, rural, all girls and all boys. Versatile and dynamic in the classroom, Maurice taught Japanese, French, ESL, History and English. Maurice was inspired to become a teacher by his great teachers when at school and by two of his six siblings, both of whom are teachers. Following in their footsteps, he received his bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Newcastle, class of 1979, in preparation for his extensive career.

Always looking for new challenges, Maurice is interested in furthering his studies, to give back to the teaching community, and teach at the university level to train and guide future teachers. He is affiliated with New South Wales Deputy Principals Association and enjoys playing tennis, reading, and fine wine.
