Ms. Maria Majka is Principal at Baywood Elementary in the San Mateo-Foster City School District, with almost a decade leading 750 students and their families from Pre-K through 5th Grade.  An article by Ms. Majka was featured in a Six Seconds newsletter about navigating emotions.  Social Emotional Learning is an area of focus.  Ms. Majka is also proud of the various personal enrichment programs offered under her administration that provide a much-needed balance to the contemporary emphasis on academic metrics.
Ms. Majka holds a Bachelor in Psychology from the University of California at Davis, with teaching credentials earned at San Francisco State University and administrative training through Santa Clara University.  She enjoys cycling and triathlons, and regularly donates to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  She is a member of the Association of California School Administrators.
