John Faulks is the Managing Director of Southern Wide Real Estate, a commercial and residential real estate company that employs 40 agents throughout Otago and Canterbury. The company spans terrain with branches in Christchurch, Dunedin, Alexandra, Ranfurly and Oamaru. Southern Wide Real Estate is locally owned and operated, with excellent connections and an extremely strong sales culture.

John has over 15 years of experience in real estate and over 10 years in banking. In addition to real estate, he is also the Director of Oritain, a specialized company that establishes food origin through scientific processes that are cost effective. He and the Oritain team work diligently to prevent food fraud and guarantee the origin of food sources—a vital part of any food and beverage company in order to maintain integrity in the current global markets. Oritain assesses business risks and helps prevent costly fraud. They are able to implement processes that ultimately benefit the products in the eyes of both the purchaser and consumer.

John holds a B Com Agriculture degree in Marketing and Farm Management from Lincoln University, class of 1987. He is actively involved with the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand and the Stock & Station Association. Always looking for opportunities for growth, John is eager to network with like-minded professionals with the goal of continuing to expand the businesses both domestically and internationally.

Having coached various sports, predominately rugby from school level to men's representative level, John takes pride in adding value in a team environment. He enjoys teaching young men life skills as well as the sport, with the goal of becoming responsible members of a team and the community.

He has aspirations to continue to grow his company with good people and a profitable output, adding value to shareholders and clients. A man of strong family values, he and his wife Andrea have four children. In his spare time, he enjoys sports and continues to coach rugby. John enjoys family life as his children grow and leave home to start their own adventures.
