Glenn Zakaib is a Partner at Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP, a Toronto-based legal firm comprised of over 200 lawyers and focused on serving the transaction, advocacy and advisory needs of the country’s most dynamic business sectors. With over 30 years of experience in counsel and legal advisory services, Glenn is the Chair of the Advocacy Practice Group and specifically partners the Product Liability and Class Action Groups for the firm. He describes his approach as “client goal oriented” .  His practice focuses primarily on product liability such as drug and medical devices, automotive and aviation products, and electrical equipment and home appliances, in addition to class proceedings including life insurance, misrepresentation claims and Competition Act claims.

Ranked as a highly recommended lawyer in the PLC Cross-Border Life Sciences Handbook, Glenn is one of the few practitioners in Canada with a practice almost entirely devoted to product liability and class actions work, and has been involved in numerous precedent-setting cases. He regularly speaks to other professionals and at industry events, such as the Defense Research Institute, Quebec Bar Association, Canadian Institute, the Insurance Institute of Ontario and the Practicing Law Institute on legal issues pertaining to class proceedings and product litigation. He is a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, and a member of DRI's International Committee, Drug and Medical Device Committee and Product Liability Committee. The Chambers Global Guide, Martindale-Hubbel, Lexpert, ALM 500 and The Best Lawyers in Canada have also honored him as a member of their ranks.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science, Glenn earned his Bachelor of Laws from McGill University. Prior to joining Cassels Brock & Blackwell in 1987, he served as In-house Counsel for Travelers Canada. He speaks English and has a working knowledge of French.
