Worldwide Association of Notable Alumni Recognizes Dr. Theodore Suh
Dr. Theodore Suh is the Medical Director of Huron Valley PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly), an innovative program that supports elderly adults, helping them to remain independent members of their community. He also is a member of both the Primary Care Committee and Conference Planning Committee for the National PACE Association. A geriatric specialist, he is an expert in functional assessment, fall prevention, osteoporosis, cancer, sleep disorders and medication use in older adults.
Since 2013, Dr. Suh has served on the faculty of the University of Michigan Medical Center as an Associate Professor, Clinician and Preceptor for geriatric fellows at the U-M Turner Geriatrics Clinic. He has previously served as Medical Director of the ACE (Acute Care of the Elderly) Unit at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio where he developed a very successful ACE falls reduction initiative, which dramatically reduced the fall rate in 2012. He has also been the Medical Director of the Geriatric Assessment Program at Euclid Hospital, part of the Cleveland Clinic Health System, and Moderator for the annual “Geriatrics: The Future is Now” Conference, which is the largest interdisciplinary geriatrics conference in Ohio. Dr. Suh also developed and served as the first Course Director for the Aging Adult Rotation which began in 2008, part of the Advanced Core Curriculum for the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine.
After earning his bachelor’s degree in Biochemical Sciences with Honors from Harvard, Dr. Suh completed his MD and PhD in Developmental Biology from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, and did his residency training in Internal Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic. In 2004, he went on to earn a Master of Health Science from Duke University School of Medicine as a Geriatric Fellow, where he participated in the Clinical Research Training Program. Dr. Suh is Board Certified in Geriatric Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American Geriatric Society. His work has been published in the American Journal of Geriatric Pharmacology, the Journal of Clinical Oncology, the Journal of American Medical Directors Association and the Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine, and published articles can be viewed at PubMed and Doximity.
Dr. Suh resides in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he enjoys spending time with his family. Outside of work, he takes advantage of the traveling, nature and hiking that Michigan has to offer.
