Dr. Delwin A. Roy is a Senior Partner at the Loita Group of Companies, comprised of two major components:  an investment banking firm that offers a full service suite of transactions, including debt funding and arrangement, capital raising for equity transactions, asset management, correspondent banking, bank management and other advisory services, and an IT operation, Loita Transaction Services (LXS), that provides services to the banking and financial sector operating major ATM nation-wide systems as well as large bank individual systems in numerous African coutries. Focused on operations within the African continent, the Loita Group of Companies derives its name from the beautiful Loita Naimina Enkio Forest in Kenya.

Founded by Dr. Roy’s son Eric, Dr. Roy and 3 partners today operates the company in his son’s honor and memory. In addition to his role as Senior Partner, Dr. Roy is the firm’s Secretary and Treasurer and Chairman of eSwitch in Zambia.

A philanthropist and humanitarian to the core, Dr Roy established the Eric Edward Roy Foundation, an organization that works to fund education for women across Africa, and serves students from grade school through college. Prior to taking over at Loita, he served as the President and CEO of the Hitachi Foundation, which develops educational grants to support underserved causes within the community.  He also served as the Ford Foundation’s Regional Advisor, Economic Development and Public Management, Middle East/North Africa Division, residing first in Lebanon and subsequently Egypt.  He is a board member of Orphan Support Africa, a not-for-profit group committed to building community capacity in support of HIV/AIDS orphans in Africa is a supporter of many non-profit operations with a operational focus in Africa.

Delwin attributes much of his success to the MBA he received at the University of California, Berkeley, and the educational foundation he was given while earning his PhD in Industrial Management and Labor Economics from Purdue University. While Loita’s operations are based out of Mauritius, Dr. Roy resides in Monterey Bay Area, a location near the Silicon Valley where he keeps abreast of developments related to business interest in Africa. In addition to his frequent international travels, Dr. Roy enjoys tennis, carpentry and woodwork in his spare time.  During his career, he has lived in Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt, Uruguay, Canada and Kenya.
