Dr. Barry Gold is an American scientist turned writer. Some of his specialties include creative writing, editing, publishing, public speaking, biochemistry, pharmacology and teaching.
He currently works as an independent writer, and authored, "Operation Independence Day.” He is working on a book about drugs and similar alternatives found in plants titled, "Wild Prescriptions.” An excerpt of Chapter 1 entitled “Dyed in the Wool” will appear in the June/July 2016 issue of History Magazine.
Barry makes it a priority to write daily and has a recent piece, “New Shoes,” which was released last year in the anthology, Warren Adler Short Story Contest Winners, available from Stonehouse Press and as an e-publication. He also has a piece in www.Ducts.org entitled How About Dinner?
Barry received his PhD in Pharmacology from Boston University and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Yale University School of Medicine. He started is college education at the University of Cincinnati, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. He is a lifelong member of the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. Outside of work he enjoys woodworking and bee keeping. He and his family reside in Montebello, New York.
