Doug Abrahams is a film and television professional working through his company, 77 Sunset Beach Services. An accomplished actor with 138 film credits, he is also a sought after Dialect Coach and has had the privilege of coaching many fine actors both from Hollywood and Hollywood North. Now offering a new vision for his dialect coaching through Skype, webinars and one-on-one training, he is helping actors from around the globe achieve the dialects they need for their projects in Film and Television. As well, Doug has helped other professionals outside ‘the biz’ to become effective speakers and conquer their stage fright or “jitters.” Known for his ability to change the vision of how clients appear in public, for the high profile public speaker he is the man to empower nervous speakers to achieve greatness.
Doug has worked on a great many film and television projects in Vancouver, Toronto, New York and Los Angeles both as an actor and as a dialect and acting coach. Most recently, he has been seen coaching on the soon to be released ‘Power Rangers’. He has enjoyed coaching on many major projects such as ‘Elysium’ starring Matt Damon and ‘The Seventh Son’ big budget feature starring Jeff Bridges. On the acting side, Doug stays busy with feature films, movie of the week projects, TV series and does a great deal of voice work including commercials, video games and voice overs. A professional actor since 1972, he has had the honor of acting with or coaching many well-known actors from around the globe. With his distinguished pedigree as an actor, he has the distinct advantage in facilitating public perception to help his students and clients be in the public eye and have the tools needed to make acting or public speaking a way of life, rather than something to fear.
In Doug’s ‘other life’ he is a partner in a new Canadian company called Frontier Fuels which is pioneering some great advances in the use of CNG in Canada. The company will be opening filling stations and service operations for the conversion of all sized vehicles from gasoline to natural gas. He is very excited about the opportunities to make advances towards a greener global footprint with this endeavor.
Doug holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with Honors from the University of Guelph. He is an avid hockey player and outdoorsman, and lives in beautiful Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada.
