David J. O'Brien is a Partner of the Americas Brand, Marketing and Communications for EY in New York City. EY is a global leader in assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services. With over 30 years of experience and service at EY, David currently is responsible for advancing the firm’s core competencies through strategy, communication and brand solidification. He engages his global team and motivates them by his own true sense of purpose, and is known throughout the EY community and beyond as being one to “pay it forward.”
David joined the National Committee on US-China Relations in January 2016. He also sits on the boards of the National Ability Center and the Children of China Pediatric Foundation. Inspired by his own he and his wife’s incredible journey as parents (together they raise 4 adopted Chinese children, all of whom were born with special needs), David has seen the critical importance of service and the incredible rewards that ensue when children receive the right treatment and care that they may thrive. Through his commitment to international non-profit work in healthcare and cultural relations, he continues to help enact empowerment, poverty alleviation, awareness and to help save lives.
After completing his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Wheeling Jesuit University, David went on to earn an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant, and enjoys life with his family amidst the hustle and bustle of New York City.
