Biography

Ms. Marilyn P. Safir, PhD is a highly distinguished professional who has excelled in her career, with close to 50 years of experience in the Psychology and Teaching field. Marilyn serves in the role of Professor Emeritus at the University of Haifa. She currently specializes in Clinical (CBT) and Social Gender, Sexuality and Sex, Women courses in Psychology. She has been the recipient of numerous awards including the American Psychological Association’s Division for International Psychology and the Gori Gunvald Award for Research on Women and Gender. Her political activities began in the beginning of her career in Israel in 1969. She was in one of the founders of the "New Women's Liberation Movement " and established the Women's political party "NeS".,and is the Founding Fellow American Psychological Society., just to name a few of her numerous accomplishments. Marilyn strives to strengthen the bonds between psychology and gender studies by her research and bringing awareness to her studies in women research. She is motivated to inspire a positive change in her field.
