Biography

Beatriz works as an International Independent Consultant for Financial Inclusion, Microfinance, Rural Financial Development, and with SME from Panamá City. She is a representative alumni of Iowa State graduating with a bachelor's degree in both Agricultural Business and Public Service Administration. She also holds a masters degree in Education from Lesley University. Besides She holds a Specialization on International Relations in Latin América from Universidad Nacional de Brasilia. She is the author of several articles on Payments Systems Reforms, Banking Privatization and of the upcoming book: Distribution Channels for Micro & Massive Insurance (2017)(CAV-FIDES/FOMIN-IDB publisher). Beatriz retired from the Central Bank of Venezuela, after 15 years, as Deputy Manager Financial Market Analysis and now uses her expertise as an Independent Consultant to help poorer populations in Central and South America, and other poorer populations worldwide, access financing and insurance products. She is committed to this mission because of her own humble upbringing and her determination to make a difference and improves lives with her knowledge. She believes she had the opportunity to study and learn and her knowledge, if shared with others, will help them improve their lives. Her goals are to continue to research and educate in the area of microfinance and insurance and to start an organization to support the many abandoned elder persons in Central and South America in need of support. Beatriz sees her dedication and very open and tolerant views on all cultures as her own keys to success and she is most proud of how she has helped to educate others to improve their lives. She is also proud of mentoring others and looks forward to continuing to mentor others.
