Biography
Maribeth "Beth" Bates is a graduate of the Villanova University Masters Certification Program in Human Resource Management and Dutchess County College. She has been a Human Resource professional for over 25 years starting in the manufacturing industry where her Human Resource Director saw her talent for the field. He recruited her into Human Resources and acted as her mentor. "Beth" says her keys to success have been her flexibility and the relationships she builds. She plans to become the Vice President of Human Resources and External Affairs at Emera in the next 3 to 5 years. She was selected "Top Female Executive" in 2016 by IWLA so she will certainly win that title. "Beth" considers her experience with a former employer as her greatest professional accomplishment because she was able to bring that company's unacceptable 15 point RIR (Reportable Incident Rate) down to an amazingly low .74. She is most proud of this achievement because it protected the health and safety of the employees that worked for the company. She looks forward to enjoying all the benefits of membership and helping fellow members by sharing her knowledge.
