Biography
Kristin Lewton is the Executive Director and Founder of the non-profit organization, In This Together. Created in 2013, as part of her master degree thesis In This Together has become a leading provider of Life Skill Service Assistance in the Troutdale region of Oregon. Kristin's commitment to providing comprehensive support to people with disabilities and their families, began she was young a child; her nephew's premature birth of 28 weeks presented many physical challenges. Kristin knows that everyone is deserving of the best quality of life which can be achieved through assistance in life skill development. In this Together's mission eloquently explains its goal: "To provide comprehensive and inclusive supports that enhance the living for individuals with developmental / intellectual disabilities. Ensuring safe activities within their communities and assisting with communication, independence, and relationship building." In this Together has become such a crucial partner of the community that it has expanded with the creation of a kinship center called My Brother's Keeper that serves all of the Troutdale community. A gathering place for all to enjoy board games, movies, leisure reading. My Brother's Keeper promotes unity, communication and the building of friendships. Over the next 3 to 5 years Kristin's plans for In This Place is to offer supportive employment services and a shared housing facility.
