Biography

Elizabeth Gail McCurry has been working for FEMA for the past eight years. Gail has been in her present position as an Emergency Management Specialist (Public Assistance Crew Leader) for almost one year, and prior to that, she was a Project Specialist and Data Processing Specialist. She specializes in working active disasters, assisting states, counties, cities and some Private Non-Profits (PNPs) recover from both natural and/or man-made disasters. She actively works with various teams to format written project grants in order to provide reimbursements of funds expended to fix facilities broken as a direct result of an event to these entities through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) using the Stafford Act and as a result of a Presidential Declaration. Emergency Management is also a specialty which involves planning using potential disaster scenarios for communities/individuals to better prepare themselves on the how to and how will they/we respond to and recover from a disaster. Gail received a Bachelors Degree from Ashford University in 2013, where she studied Homeland Security and Emergency Management. While at Ashford, she was a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society and Alpha Gamma Sigma. Gail attributes her success to constantly learning, and being willing and able to help those in need during their darkest times. She hopes to grow within the FEMA workforce, and is most proud of her work ethics, team leadership and active listening skills. In her spare time, Gail enjoys playing violin, singing and making use of her vacation club.
