Biography
Thomas was involved in education for over 20 years in Canada. He started out as a teacher, then worked as a principal in schools where principals didn't last more than a year and he outlasted them all. Thomas moved his way up to Director of Education, and has since retired. Thomas has been retired for the past 15 years, and moved from Canada to Guatemala. Since retiring, he has taken up carpentry. He was inspired to become a teacher because he felt it was his destiny, and attributes his success to having a sense of responsibility and accountability, knowing what is right is right, and teaching his students to do the right thing. His goal is to improve the education system in Guatemala. Thomas has received the Wall Street Journal Achievement Award and volunteers with various charitable organizations.
