Biography

James Waller is an accomplished U.S. Army Special Agent and counterterrorism and military operations expert with 35 years of experience in counterintelligence (CI), defensive security programs, and as a criminal investigator; supervisor, counterespionage case officer, computer security officer, and as an Officer-in-Charge (OIC) polygraph detachment and examiner. Since 1999, Jim has served as Chief of Alternate Technology Branch with the Defense Intelligence Agency. His key responsibilities involve supporting service members in global operations in the global war on terror using different technologies including the new Credibility Assessment equipment training for PCASS (The Preliminary Credibility Assessment Screening System). In fact, Jim developed the original system, trains people to use it, and manages it on a global level. He is a CI Special Agent/Polygraph Examiner/Instructor for the NCCA (National Center for Credibility Assessment) which is overseen by the DIA. Jim graduated with a Master's in Forensic Psychology from Argosy University in 2002, and a Bachelor of Science in History with a Minor in Philosophy from University of California San Diego in 1982. He is part of the American Polygraph Association and AFIO - Association of Former Intelligence Officers. Originally, Jim went into the military with the U.S. Army. He has served as an Intelligence Officer for 20 years including a lot of active duty service, and has done a lot of work in his field. Regarding public speaking, Jim has mostly given presentations for the government, providing numerous training sessions for the U.S. Army, Marine Corps and Air Force, as well as other military groups. Going forward, he will likely retire in 5 years after 40 years of service, and will continue to thrive in his current role and conduct trainings. The key to his success is the great education Jim received at UCSD, which he thinks is a really good school, as well as his substantial military experience. Regarding his inclusion, he is keen to network with like-minded individuals with an interest in his field, to exchange ideas and best practices. When he's not working, Jim enjoys playing golf.
